bactokil

Backtokill

A unique ready to use spray which is effective against orf in sheep and ringworm in cattle. Usually two or three sprays will see disorder improve.
Two of the most contagious skin infections in livestock farming are Ringwormand Orf, both of which can spread to humans on contact. Ringworm is a fungus, the spores of which can live on a farm in gates, troughs and buildings for years. BACTOKILL works by killing the fungus on the skin, spray to a run-o and all areas eectived should be sprayed. Care should be taken not to spray near animals eyes. Spray onto a sponge or cloth and dab near eyes. As the skin is soft and hairless around this area, animals usually show signs of the disorder here rest. It takes about 2 weeks before hair regrowth. ORF in sheep is a viral infection, effecting mostly lambs in the spring time as they have little or no immunity to the disorder. Bactokill can be sprayed onto the selected areas on a weekly basis until controlled.

Wart, Angleberry and Cowpox Spray
Aids in the treatment of teat warts on cows and Angleberries in dry stock. Assists in the reduction of the bacteria that causes Pseudo Cowpox in Dairy Cows. For light stringy warts, which heifers are prone to, spray lightly and allow to dry. Use only once per week as teat skin on heifer's can be delicate. What are Warts?
Warts in cattle are caused by the contagious virus papillomavirus. Four types of the virus are known to produce warts on cattle. Calves are most susceptible with few cases of warts seen in cattle over 2 years of age. Warts appear 1 to 6 months after infection with the virus. Not all animals carrying the virus will have warts. It can be transmitted from the unapparent carrier to the susceptible animal. Warts are usually more of an appearance problem than a physical problem. Heifers suffering from cluster warts may lead to painful milkings. The virus spread is unpredictable. Some animals appear to show some resistance. Any weakening of the teat skin from fly bits, scratches etc. may allow the virus to enter the skin.

wart ointment

Wart Ointment

For Successful Wart Removal Softens
Warts and dries up cluster warts. For large warts, it deadens the root which makes it easier to remove. Again like any ointment will work faster with teat tape as this keeps the ointment working on the affected area. Also when active the ointment will sting the teat and the teat tape prevents the animal from licking it off. For light string warts on Heifers or warts on dry stock (Angleberries) use Novavets W.A.C. spray.
Contains: Salicylic Acid in a silcocks base.

blackspot cream

BLACKSPOT AND TEAT CREAM

Great for teat cuts and lesions especially blackspot disorder. Apply onto a cleaned teat and cover with a teat bandage which will keep cream working and the wound clean.
- Contains: Clandual 10% in a Silcock Base

What is Blackspot?

Blackspot is lesions on the teats of cows and are almost always confined to the tip and including the orifice of the teat sinus. They are deep ulcers containing granulation tissue and usually a black spot. Milk flow is impeded and the lesion is very painful. They are caused by excessive suction during milking although Staphylococcus aureus is usually recoverable from the lesions. Also called black pox. Blackspot grows up the teat canal causing the orifice to open and leak milk. This may lead to bacteria that can cause mastitis to enter the udder.

mastomint

Mastomint Cool Gel

Mastomint Cool gel is a premium udder ointment and rub. It works by warming the skin and increasing blood flow to the infected area. Because the Mastitis infection causes swelling in the milk production cells (Aveolli) the natural blood flow is reduced. Mastomint helps in providing heat stimulus to the effective area. The natural oils soften the hardened or swollen quarter and blood flow is enhanced in this area. Rub 10ml after each milking into the affected area.
It is also highly effective in reducing swelling in joints and stressed muscles. Because the natural flow of milk is downwards, making it difficult for antibiotics to reach infected areas, MASTOMINT helps the working of Mastitis Tubes by increasing the blood flow to these areas. MASTOMINT can be used with NOVAVET’s MASPREP TUBES which contain non-antibiotic Aloe gel. 500ml
Contains A blend of peppermint oil, Arnica oil, Eucalyptus and Tea tree oil.
